88% of CMOs regret this — live breakdown July 9
New data from 621 enterprise leaders and my unfiltered read on it. Save your seat.
The CMO playbook we all built our careers on is being rewritten in real time.
Not retired. Rewritten.
I’ve been making this argument all year: performance marketing is becoming an engineering problem that agents run. And as AI makes average content cheap, every company starts to sound the same — which makes brand and taste the only defensible ground left.
But here’s the trap I see marketing leaders falling into: mistaking speed for progress. Speed without a foundation doesn’t create advantage. It just scales your mistakes.
Turns out, there’s now data to prove it.
Contentstack surveyed 621 enterprise leaders on agentic AI adoption, and the results tell both sides of the story. Most companies have agentic programs in production, and three-quarters are seeing measurable ROI. But 88% wish they’d built the foundation earlier. 78% hit content and data readiness problems. 85% are reevaluating their entire stack.
The shift is working — and almost everyone regrets how they started.
Next Thursday, July 9, I’m unpacking all of this live with the Contentstack team. Ben Goldstein will walk through the research; I’ll give my unfiltered read on what it means for how you lead: where to push, where to pause, and what the marketing org looks like when agents run half the playbook.
In 45 minutes, you’ll get:
Benchmarks to see where your org actually stands — adoption, ROI, and ownership gaps
A CMO prioritization roadmap: what to invest in now, and what to retire
The governance and operating questions to answer before you scale further

If you lead a marketing team — or report to someone who does — this is worth your hour. Bring your hardest questions. I’d rather have a real conversation than deliver a presentation.
See you there,
